About Suzannah

Suzannah Young is a published writer and artist specializing in journalism, mixed media visual art, and poetry. A recent graduate from Barry University where she completed her BA in Communications/Media Studies, she has written for newspapers such as The Miami Herald and The (Barry) Buccaneer, and for the Artburst Miami blog. Suzannah's articles for The Buccaneer were consistently among the most highly ranked in the publication and have won multiple awards from the Catholic Press Association. In 2021, Suzannah participated in the Artburst Miami mentorship program under the guidance of Christine Dolen, where she wrote two articles about the performing arts for the Artburst blog that were also published in The Miami Herald. Suzannah's innate curiosity in combination with stealthy penmanship have ranked her at the top of her class, and in the 2021-22 school year she was named the Outstanding Student in Communications and Media Studies. She was was most recently named Writer of the Year by the Catholic Media Association for her article "Exposing Amazon." In the summer of 2023, Suzannah's poetry was published for the first time ever in the Barry University literary magazine, What Oft Was Thought.
