About Suzannah

Suzannah Young is a published writer and artist specializing in journalism, mixed media visual art, and poetry. Suzannah graduated from Barry University in 2023 with her BA degree in Communications and Media Studies, and she has written for newspapers such as The Miami Herald, The (Barry) Buccaneer, and Artburst Miami. Suzannah's articles for The Buccaneer were consistently among the most highly ranked in the publication and have won multiple awards from the Catholic Press Association. In 2021, Suzannah participated in the Artburst Miami mentorship program under the guidance of Christine Dolen, where she wrote two articles about the performing arts for the Artburst blog that were also published in The Miami Herald. Suzannah's innate curiosity in combination with stealthy penmanship have ranked her at the top of her class, and in the 2021-22 school year she was named the Outstanding Student in Communications and Media Studies. She was also named Writer of the Year in 2022 by the Catholic Media Association for her article "Exposing Amazon." In 2023, Suzannah's poetry was published for the first time ever in the Barry University literary magazine, What Oft Was Thought. Suzannah currently resides in Wichita, Kansas where she teaches kindergarten. She most recently finished writing her first book of poetry which is currently in the beginning stages of publication.
